The Boone’s

backyard intimate wedding

A carefree and intimate countryside wedding in Fort Payne, Alabama

I’ve known Averi since high school — she is the kind of person who didn’t need to be the loudest in the room to leave a lasting impression. Always kind, always willing to help, and one of the most creative souls I’ve known. So getting to photograph her wedding day, and witness the way Jacob looks at her with the deepest sense of admiration and love — it was an absolute honor.

Jacob and Averi’s story began long before their wedding day — back in the hallways of high school. Their wedding day felt like the natural continuation of a love story that had been unfolding for years — soft, sacred, and beautifully them.

Getting Ready

Averi arrived at her childhood home fashionably late — hair and makeup already done, radiating peace and excitement in the most effortless way. There wasn’t a trace of stress or hurry in her spirit. Time didn’t seem to matter. She was simply ready to marry the love of her life.

Meanwhile, Jacob waited just a few steps away, ready for his first glimpse of the woman he’s loved for so many years. The anticipation was quiet but sure, the kind that only comes with deep, enduring love.

Once Averi was ready, we stepped outside for the first look. Jacob was already in place, standing quietly, clearly ready to see his bride.

Averi walked up behind him with the softest smile, and as he turned around, his whole expression shifted — a mix of calm and quiet happiness. No big reactions, no performance — just a moment that felt completely true to who they are.

I stepped back and let them have it. Just the two of them, taking it all in. They hugged, laughed softly, and stood there for a while — no rush, no distractions. It was one of the most peaceful parts of the day.

Portraits

Photographing Jacob and Averi was so easy — they just fit together. Every little look, soft touch, and burst of laughter felt completely natural. Nothing was forced. They were relaxed, playful, and totally present with each other, which made my job feel less like directing and more like quietly observing something really special.

It was one of those portrait sessions where everything just worked — the light, the setting, and most of all, the love between them.

One of my favorite spots we used for portraits was right here — Averi suggested they sit for a few photos, and I’m so glad she did. The light hit just right, and the connection between them in that moment really shines through. Nothing overly planned — just the two of them, comfortable, close, and completely in their element.

The blue hour portraits brought a soft, dreamy feel to the evening. No bouquet for Averi—just her and Jacob in an open field beneath a painted sky. It was quiet, gentle, and full of magic—like a glimpse into the life they’re stepping into together: wholehearted, grounded, and full of love.

The Bridal Party

The bridal party brought such a fun, relaxed energy to the day. They kept things light, made Averi and Jacob laugh, and were just the kind of people you’d want by your side on a day like this.

Honorary mention: this bold selfie, courtesy of the groomsmen — snapped on my camera while I handed it off for just a second to grab the forgotten bridesmaid bouquets for portraits. A true behind-the-scenes classic.

The Ceremony

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Averi and Jacob stood together in the rolling hills of their ceremony space, ready to begin the next chapter of their story.

Jacob stood patiently at the front, hands clasped and eyes steady, as he waited for Averi — calm, collected, and completely ready for this moment.

They exchanged rings with soft smiles and steady hands — a simple, meaningful moment that sealed their promises and marked the start of their forever.

"Jacob, you may kiss your bride."

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Boone!”
Cheers erupted as they walked back down the aisle — hand in hand, grinning, officially husband and wife.

Heading to the reception to celebrate

The Reception

The reception space was truly lovely—inviting and full of thoughtful details. Elegant string lights cast a soft, romantic glow over warm-toned tablescapes, creating a cozy and elegant atmosphere. Photos of the couple added a personal touch, while packets of wildflower seeds served as meaningful keepsakes for guests. The evening was filled with laughter, delicious food, and decadent desserts. Every element came together beautifully, making the celebration feel both heartfelt and unforgettable.

Guests settled into the reception, enveloped by an atmosphere of elegance and anticipation. The soft glow of ambient lighting accentuated the sophisticated decor, setting a refined tone for the evening. Laughter and conversation intertwined, creating a harmonious blend of joy and celebration as they welcomed the night’s unfolding moments.

Averi and Jacob sat side by side as Averi’s father gave a heartfelt toast — words full of love and quiet pride for the two of them.

Their first dance was sweet. Averi barefoot on the dance floor, swaying with Jacob like no one else was in the room.

The couple’s personality truly comes alive at the reception. Laughter fills the air as they dance, joke with friends, and savor every moment together.

Averi quickly became a legendary cowboy hat theif during the reception—swiping hats left and right and rocking each one like it was made for her. It became her unofficial party trick and added the perfect dose of mischief and charm to the night.

The most unforgettable photo booth experience for guests

The last photographs I captured before leaving were of the cake cutting. Giggly and sweet, they stood side by side, slicing into the cake with the same joy and warmth that had filled the entire day. It was a simple, beautiful moment—one that perfectly wrapped up a night full of love and laughter.
